Aunjanue Ellis

Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, an American screen and stage actress, best recognized for her roles in films in Ray Undercover Brother and on the TV show The Mentalist. She earned a B.A. in African-American Studies, from Brown University. Her MFA is in acting from Tisch School of Acting at New York University. Aunjanue Ellis is an American actor and producer who is active in theater, film as well as television. She started acting on stage and went onto appear in mainstream, independent as well as television shows. Her most well-known roles were in the role of Miranda Shaw (ABC's Quantico) as well as on BET's epic The Book of Negroes. Both series received major critical acclaim, but she also won a lot of prizes. In 1995, she was the first to appear as Ariel on stage as Ariel in The Tempest. On Broadway, she has appeared as a character in Come and Gone A Winter's Tale Seeking the Genesis and Joe Turner's Come and Gone. Film-wise she is most famous for parts like Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express or The Help. Her work in television she's received praise for her performance in the role of a character who is a regular on ABC's drama about cops High Incident.
