Patricia Apollonia Kotero was an American model and a singer. She is also co-starring with Prince in his 1984 movie Purple Rain. She is best known as the main character in Prince's 1984 Purple Rain film and lead singer of the girl group Apollonia 6 In the 80s, the actor-singer Prince named Apollonia to be one of many female musicians to gain from their association with Prince. Patricia Kotero began her acting and modeling career in Santa Monica California, in the latter half of the '70s. The first time she appeared was on CHiPS. Kotero was the female lead of Prince's Purple Rain in 1984 (at which point he had changed the name of her). The same year, she took over Vanity in the form of the group Vanity 6 as well as performed alongside their brand name Apollonia 6 in the film.
